Das Thema von Julius Weilands j\u00fcngsten Malereien ist die Architektur der 60er und 70er Jahre – vor allem die sozialistische Moderne und der sogenannte Brutalismus. Die Faszination, die diese Geb\u00e4ude ausl\u00f6sen, liegt in ihrer konsequenten Formensprache sowie in der gleichzeitigen \u00dcberh\u00f6hung und ihrem heute befremdlich anmutenden Pathos. Durch die malerische Interpretation ist nicht eindeutig zu erkennen, um welche Epoche es sich handelt. Durch Abstraktion und ver\u00e4nderte Farbgebung entstehen neue Architekturen, die ebenso zeitgen\u00f6ssisch wie auch utopisch sein k\u00f6nnten. Fassaden werden in kleine Farbfl\u00e4chen zerlegt und R\u00e4ume in dramatischen Perspektiven dargestellt. Im Kontrast dazu stehen Julius Weilands Glas-Objekte, die durch weiche organische Formen und sanfte Farben auf die nat\u00fcrliche Sph\u00e4re verweisen.<\/p>\n \n\n

Es sind Anspielungen auf Stimmungen und Naturph\u00e4nomene, die sich aber jeder Eindeutigkeit entziehen. Das verbindende Element zu den Malereien scheint die Komposition zu sein – das Zusammenf\u00fcgen von Formen und Farben zu in sich stimmigen Einheiten. Von innen heraus wachsende Formen verweisen auf die Urhaftigkeit und die ewige Verwandlung der Natur.<\/p>\n \n\n
