Sie versteht den Raum nicht als unbewegliche Umgebung, sondern als lebendig und dynamisch mit dem K\u00f6rper verwoben. In ihrer Vorstellung sind Raum, K\u00f6rper und Handlung nicht voneinander getrennt sondern sie bedingen einander und sind untrennbar miteinander verbunden. Ihre weichen Architekturen \u2013 <strong>soft architectures<\/strong> \u2013 in Form von textilen H\u00fcllen, weichen H\u00e4uten bis hin zu nahezu immateriellen Membranen lassen Raum- und K\u00f6rpergrenzen durchl\u00e4ssig, ver\u00e4nderbar und verg\u00e4nglich werden. Ihre Arbeiten, die sie in ihrer k\u00fcnstlerischen Praxis im Rahmen ihres <strong>Studio for Dialogical Spaces<\/strong> entwickelt, werden in internationalen Kontexten und Ausstellungen gezeigt. Sie hat zahlreiche Stipendien und Preise erhalten, u.a. von der Akademie Schloss Solitude, Van Alen Institute New York, Largo das Artes Rio de Janeiro, Stiftung Bauhaus Dessau. Gabi Schillig lebt in Berlin und lehrt als Professorin an der Universit\u00e4t der K\u00fcnste Berlin.
