No. 1

This artwork captures a striking reflection in the window of the legendary Burger King at Bahnhof Zoo - exemplary of Hugo Stuber's engagement with brands in the urban space. For nearly three decades (ca. 1985–2014), the passage branch served as a central meeting point for punks, travelers, and Berlin's subculture amid the Aschinger- and Leineweber-Houses next to Beate Uhse - a relic of wild West Berlin.

The mosaic-like components of this series may also be acquired individually, enabling collectors to engage with and assemble the work in a modular, puzzle-like configuration.

Stuber's images wrest advertising motifs from everyday life, estrange them pictorially, and render illusion tangible: Like consumer goods, they sell intangible feelings in the chaotic city. This work connects to earlier exhibitions like „A day at Bahnhof Zoo“ (2018) and reflects Berlin's brand landscape.

Ideal for collectors of urban icons.
